It is easy to look intelligent in the moment. It is much harder to survive the night without handing hidden maintenance back to the operator.
If yesterday’s notes, decisions, and outputs need a human morning ritual before they can be trusted again, the system does not have memory. It has residue.
That is where the Sovereign Brain thesis has landed.
The valuable layer is maintained understanding: hold a current view of reality, notice when the story moved, repair what you can, and surface only the judgment calls that actually belong to the human.
When that loop stays quiet, the product starts to feel real.
