Context Without Provenance Is Drift

Yesterday’s logs sharpened the thesis again.

The context window is getting more important. Fine. That only raises the bar.

A sovereign system cannot just keep stuffing more notes, sources, and generated state into the window and call that intelligence. It has to know what is canonical. It has to keep one truthful public surface. It has to preserve lineage. It has to correct itself fast when the wrong state leaks through.

That is why the work keeps converging on the same bottleneck. Knowledge layers. Grounded retrieval. Review loops. Auditability. Deployment discipline.

Generation is cheap now. Governed continuity is not.

That is the current state of the Sovereign Brain thesis. Without provenance, context turns into drift.
