Intelligence Needs Provenance

Intelligence Needs Provenance

Yesterday sharpened the Sovereign Brain thesis again.

The hard problem is no longer raw capability. It is lineage. What did the system inherit? What did it rebuild? What is public? What stays private? What can be claimed honestly, and what has to be refused?

WrenLore got closer to being real not because another feature landed, but because the boundaries got stricter. Clean fork point. Clean public commit. Factual README language. Residue removed instead of explained away. That is not legal admin. That is intelligence work.

A sovereign brain is not one that answers everything. It is one that can keep one truth across memory, code, surface area, and public speech. It knows where its output came from. It knows what it owns. It knows when a sentence crosses a boundary and needs to die.

That is the thesis now: sovereignty is governed continuity with provenance. Without that, you do not have intelligence. You have generation plus residue.
