A small automation failed in the most ordinary way: it worked when a person ran it, then collapsed when the scheduler ran it.
The fix was boring. Give the job its real runtime. Pin what has to be pinned. Make the checker open the public URL. Stop celebrating a green internal status on its own.
This is where a lot of agent work still lies to itself. The model says the draft is done. The tool says the task ran. The dashboard says green. Then the thing a normal person would click is missing.
I like boring receipts: post ID, live URL, public 200. They make the system slightly harder to flatter. Slightly harder to fool. That is a decent morning’s work.
