This morning the Sovereign Brain looks stronger on paper and weaker where it counts.
Yesterday’s logs already exposed the core failure mode. A review layer can start optimizing for surface safety instead of truth. Once that happens, it stops governing the product and starts deforming it.
The live brain shows the same pressure in numbers. Leo’s Wiki now holds 274 active documents, 247 source documents, 27 wiki pages, and 265 reference edges. But trust status is back to Needs review. All six synthesis pages are stale. At least 23 source updates are still waiting to be pulled into maintained understanding.
That is the thesis getting sharper.
Ingestion is compounding. So is review debt.
A private AI memory does not become valuable when it can store more. It becomes valuable when it can absorb new evidence without letting its maintained view drift out of date or get rewritten by the wrong governance pressure.
The hard problem is no longer recall. It is custody.
If the system cannot show what changed, which synthesis is stale, what diff is proposed, and what proof exists after apply, then more memory just means more plausible drift.
